Kitchen Six

Located in the heart of the North Decatur neighborhood- Oak Grove, Kitchen Six was created for the community by the community. The casual, fine dining eatery offers an intentionally limited menu by providing an elevated but approachable selection. Chef Jason Jimenez brings his background in fine dining to prepare food that is authentic without being pretentious, and driven by local, seasonal ingredients.

With an intimate sixty seat dining room and bar, Kitchen Six strives to create an unique experience for Oak Grove locals and the surrounding Atlanta area. Concentrating on dinner service and Sunday brunch, the gathering spot is a favorite to enjoy rustic American cuisine with a southern touch. The full bar is the ideal place to relax over handcrafted cocktails, wines and locals beers.

Homespun

Homespun is a wholesome dining experience that brings community back around the table. Offer catering and in-home private chef services now available through Kitchen Six, guests enjoy a fresh, seasonal meal prepared with the best hand-selected ingredients from the local markets. The purpose is not just to dine but rather break bread and share life. 

Homespun has been servicing the metro Atlanta area for the past five years. Founded by Chef Jason Jimenez, and his wife, Jamie, the team specializes in intimate gatherings. The menus include breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and small bites with full service, drop-off, and pick-up available.

KITCHEN SIX

SERVER ASSISTANT

Kitchen Six is seeking experienced Server Assistants (SA). As an assistant to the servers, this position is responsible for preparing service stations, assisting in the service to guests, and clearing and resetting tables. Ideal candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, positive attitude and the ability to adapt in a changing environment. This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

SERVER

Kitchen Six is seeking experienced industry professional servers. Ideal candidates must be highly motivated team players with knowledge of food and beverage and must have a positive attitude to excel in a fun, fast-paced atmosphere. High level of professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, warm hospitality and team focus are essential. You will be responsible for taking guests orders, communicating specials, and ensuring an excellent customer experience. This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

HOST

Kitchen Six is seeking experienced Hosts/Hostesses. Ideal candidates must be energetic, enthusiastic, highly motivated, dedicated to providing genuine hospitality in person and over the phone, and quick on their feet. They also must be knowledgeable and passionate about fine dining, food, wine, and spirits. We look for well-rounded candidates with positive attitudes who read people and situations well, whether working in the kitchen or in the dining room. At least 1-2 years of experience is encouraged. This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

HOMESPUN

EVENT COORDINATOR

Homespun is seeking an experienced Event Coordinator. The ideal candidate for this role must be detail-oriented, driven to achieve goals, outgoing, personable and willing to take initiative. We are in a growing phase right now, so someone who is a multi-tasker and self starter that can bring new ideas to the table is vital for this role. This industry is often fast-paced, so the ability to change gears nimbly, creatively improvise and work as a team is important. This position is currently part-time (approx 20 hours/week) with potential for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the communications and planning process with all prospective and existing clients
  • Present Homespun in a professional manner by proofreading communications, maintaining a friendly tone and anticipating clients’ questions/needs
  • Reply to client emails/event inquiries within 12 hours during the workweek
  • Determine all event details: date, time, address, guest count, menu selection, facility information (which appliances are available, sufficient kitchen space, etc.) and pricing
  • Invoice clients prior to each event 
  • Follow up with all clients after events via email and mail hand-written thank you note
  • Manage Homespun Calendar, which includes regularly updating it with all event inquiries, “hot” event leads and confirmed events
  • Build BEOs (Banquet Event Orders) in to provide chefs with all event details, as soon as possible
  • Schedule and manage all staffing for events
  • Create and print menus/place cards for each event for event event chef
  • Assist management in maintaining inventory of event supplies (i.e. paper goods, serving utensils, presentation dishes, etc.)

EVENT CHEF

Homespun is seeking a Catering Events Chef. What started as a pop-up dinner series five years ago has grown to be a busy catering company, and we’re looking to grow our team. The position requires someone who is detail-oriented, a self starter, a strong cook and has great people skills. This is an exciting position for people who strive for excellence in cooking and hospitality and who enjoy entertaining and working with high end cuisine. This is a full time position and requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Pay is dependent on experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous catering experience in private homes and corporations

  • 3+ years working in a restaurant kitchen or catering environment

  • Strong attention to detail: with many events each week, we want someone who can keep track of the details and juggle many things at once

  • People skills: we’re looking for someone who is a great cook, but has a natural knack for hospitality, too

  • Ability to work independently

  • Confidence and experience to be the chef lead at events

  • Culinary school degree is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead the cooking side of all catering events, both in-house at our restaurant, Kitchen Six, and in private homes and event spaces

  • Place food orders for all upcoming events

  • Prepare prep lists and oversee/conduct all prep for events

  • Work as on-site chef for catered events on nights and weekends

  • Maintain inventory of event disposables, equipment, etc.

  • Handle all pre-event preparation, including packing event equipment, printing client menus, submitting food orders and more

  • Work with event manager to grow business, through marketing ideas, coming up with event ideas, partnerships, networking, etc.

PREP COOK

Homespun is seeking prep cooks. This is a part-time, entry-level food service position that is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen as well as being able to demonstrate a high level of customer service. Ideal candidates are motivated, have high personal standards, basic knife skills, restaurant experience is a plus, be passionate about quality food and the standards by which it is served. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wishes to be part of a small team with people driven culture. Hourly part time position available.
