Kitchen Six

Located in the heart of the North Decatur neighborhood- Oak Grove, Kitchen Six was created for the community by the community. The casual, fine dining eatery offers an intentionally limited menu by providing an elevated but approachable selection. Chef Jason Jimenez brings his background in fine dining to prepare food that is authentic without being pretentious, and driven by local, seasonal ingredients.

With an intimate sixty seat dining room and bar, Kitchen Six strives to create an unique experience for Oak Grove locals and the surrounding Atlanta area. Concentrating on dinner service and Sunday brunch, the gathering spot is a favorite to enjoy rustic American cuisine with a southern touch. The full bar is the ideal place to relax over handcrafted cocktails, wines and locals beers.

Homespun

Homespun is a wholesome dining experience that brings community back around the table. Offer catering and in-home private chef services now available through Kitchen Six, guests enjoy a fresh, seasonal meal prepared with the best hand-selected ingredients from the local markets. The purpose is not just to dine but rather break bread and share life. 

Homespun has been servicing the metro Atlanta area for the past four years. Founded by Chef Jason Jimenez, and his wife, Jamie, the team specializes in intimate gatherings. The menus include breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and small bites with full service, drop-off, and pick-up available.

FRONT OF HOUSE


BARTENDER

Kitchen Six is seeking an experienced bartender. This individual will join front and back of house teams with a steadfast commitment to the highest hospitality standards and product knowledge in a fast paced, elevated dining atmosphere. The bar features seasonally-inspired craft and classic cocktails. We are searching for an individual who is creative, hard working, and passionate about hospitality, food and beverage. Strong beverage knowledge is a must, particularly in the wine and spirit worlds. The right candidate is both professional and personal, with an impeccable work ethic and a team player attitude. This is a full time position, and weekends are mandatory.


HOST

Kitchen Six is seeking experienced Hosts/Hostesses. Ideal candidates must be energetic, enthusiastic, highly motivated, dedicated to providing genuine hospitality in person and over the phone, and quick on their feet. They also must be knowledgeable and passionate about fine dining, food, wine, and spirits. We look for well-rounded candidates with positive attitudes who read people and situations well, whether working in the kitchen or in the dining room. At least 1-2 years of experience is encouraged. This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.


SERVER

Kitchen Six is seeking experienced industry professional servers. Ideal candidates must be highly motivated team players with knowledge of food and beverage and must have a positive attitude to excel in a fun, fast-paced atmosphere. High level of professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, warm hospitality and team focus are essential. You will be responsible for taking guests orders, communicating specials, and ensuring an excellent customer experience. This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

 

BACK OF HOUSE


LINE COOK

Kitchen Six is seeking line cooks. Ideal candidates have at least two years of experience cooking on a line, be passionate about quality, local food and the standards by which it is served, understand various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures. Individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to cleanliness and detail is a must. May be required to open and close the restaurant and perform related work as requested. A culinary degree or comparable experience is required. This is a full time position (40+ hours per week) and requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Required Skills

  • Ability to prepare food to the exact specifications of the chef; dedicated to creating well-executed food
  • Implement set standards including quality, portion control and presentation expectation
  • Prepare for food service; clean and chop food, set up and stock stations
  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain superior temperament, adaptable nature and good communication skills with coworkers
  • Ability to work quickly and even-keeled in a high pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate integrity in all areas, both personal and professional

PREP COOK

Kitchen Six is seeking prep cooks. This is a full-time, entry-level food service position that is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen as well as being able to demonstrate a high level of customer service. Ideal candidates are motivated, have high personal standards, basic knife skills, restaurant experience is a plus, be passionate about quality food and the standards by which it is served. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wishes to be part of a small team with people driven culture. There are hourly part time and full time position available.


EVENT CHEF

Homespun is seeking experienced chefs for private, off-site events. This is not only a position which requires timely and quality preparation of product, but also the ability to interact with clients, and grow in your craft. This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Required Skills

  • Assist in menu preparation with excellent knife skills, proper cooking technique, and attention to detail

  • Fundamental knowledge of proper practices of food storage

  • Team player in all aspects of the kitchen. ie: taking out the trash, washing dishes, and cleanliness throughout shift

  • Mentally organized and efficient in day to day tasks

  • Ability to handle stress while maintaining a positive attitude

  • Eager to serve while being professional
